Green Sanctuary Program

The UUA has created a 40+ page document called the 'Green Sanctuary Manual',copies of which can be ordered by following the link at:
http://www.uua.org/leaders/leaderslibrary/greensanctuary/118741.shtml

The 'Green Sanctuary' program goes well beyond mere ecological environmental issues. It goes to the core of our Principles. It could even be seen as the Manual for the Implementation of First's 'Vision and Property' declaration passed in 2008. It includes social actions in the widest sense. It encompasses all aspects of our religious life. Our congregation is already involved in many of the aspects required for 'accreditation'. But there is still a long -and continuing - path to go. The Manual describes some very specific projects and activities congregations can undertake.

Click on the following link to see a short summary of that document, with references to page numbers in the original

Green Commitment Tree

At the November 2 services, we told you about our new "Green Commitment Tree".

Members and friends are invited to place leaves on that tree containing commitments to green actions that you and/or your family  take.

As the tree grows, the green actions will provide us all with much to discuss and learn from
