What is INTERWEAVE?

INTERWEAVE is the name of the queer-focused SMALLgroups at First Unitarian. All members and friends who are either queer or queer positive are welcome to attend. Queer is used in broadest its broadest sense to refer to the bisexual, gay, lesbian, and/or transgender communities. Each SMALLgroup has a distinct focus and a designated leader and co-leader.  Initially, three SMALL groups have been organized to run for at least six months:

·      Coming Out
·      The Way We Were (formerly Men's Interweave)
·      Spiritual Growth
·      Outreach (not forming until the new year)

When does INTERWEAVE meet? We meet on the fourth Sunday of each month, with the first meeting scheduled for Sunday, November 26.   A potluck dinner will be shared by all participants beginning at 6:30 Pm, followed by break-out into small groups from 7:30-9:00 Pm

 Who is leading INTERWEAVE?

The steering committee includes Ian McCorquodale (Chair) , Glen Hart, Charlene Mlson, and Rod Branch.   They are developing a mission statement and organizing a calendar of Interweave events during the coming year, handling logistics and marketing efforts.   Special events will include preparing for the Pride service next June, dances, and other social activities.   Two of the SMALLgroup leaders are Janice Towndrow (Coming Out)  and Susan Anderson (Spiritual Growth) .
