In the summer of '99, my life took a most unexpected turn. I read a sermon delivered by Sheri Prud'homme some years back. As a result of that event, I found myself at the front doors of this building. Curiosity had brought me that far but fear kept me from entering. I walked around the block, took a deep breath and entered. I have never looked back. When I arrived here, I came with an unquenchable thirst. I found myself longing for the next Sunday. However, time and time again, during each Sunday service, I would ask myself, "Why am I here?". It was disconcerting. I came to realize that as a result of a choice that I had made as a teen, I had a spiritual void in my life. And so, in an attempt to answer that question I decided to embark on a spiritual quest. I knew that it wouldn't be easy but somehow I thought that the road would be fairly straight and clear. But no, stumbling and falling down, there has been lots of falling down. Along the way, I discovered the Living In Spirit group. Murray Erlich started this group with the intention of bringing spirituality into his daily life. He has created the opportunity for others to do the same. One of the greatest gifts of the past year and indeed my life has been the opportunity to explore my deepest self in a nurturing, trusting, welcoming environment. The atmosphere created by the Living In Spirit group is one of warmth, friendship and security. I have been able to express some of my deepest thoughts and feelings and reveal a well-guarded part of myself without comment or judgment from others. It has been a blessing. If personal and spiritual growth is your wish, I welcome you to give the Living In Spirit group a try. Here is an opportunity for you to explore and perhaps even discover what is closest to your heart. I find it incredible that something borne out of curiosity could have such a profound affect on my life in such a short time. Once, I was hunger and thirst, I lived with sorrow and pain. Now, I am giving, I live with peace and happiness.
