Sermon by Nicole McKay.
Our culture tells us that we must strive for perfection in every aspect of our lives, from "flawless" looks, moving up the corporate ladder, to grades that get us into the best schools. This week, we explore the concept of Wabi-Sabi from Japan which teaches us to accept beauty as imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.
As we learn from the wisdom of other cultures, we challenge our understanding of the world. Drawing from some of our six sources, we will explore stories of imperfection and how we can live into it in our daily lives.
I hope to see you on Sunday as we create space to embrace ourselves as whole, cracks and all.
