“Epiphany (A Dose of Reality)”
Sermon by Rodrigo Solano-Quesnel, Intern Minister.
The twelfth night of Christmas seems to have a low-key profile. In my Mexican cultural heritage, however, Epiphany has been a time to celebrate gift giving again, with images of wise folk bearing deeply spiritual offerings of incense, myrrh, and... gold.
The ways that the world is interconnected can give the impression that economics and spiritual witness are incompatible. What constitutes wealth can be a tricky concept, especially since economic theories often have a way of explaining difficult realities about our relationships with each other, while obscuring insights about social responsibility and all that is most valuable to us as human beings.
Clarity is found in unexpected places, even a CBC reality show about entrepreneurship. What realities do these visionaries have in mind? Come and find out with me on Sunday!
