All are welcome to participate in a unique All Candidates Meeting sponsored by our Green Sanctuary Group, in Sunderland Hall, focusing on The Intersection of Climate and Democracy.
Asking the question "Can we save our environment and our democracy together?", our purpose will be to share perspectives and try to find solutions that everyone can support, in a serious effort to avoid being locked into partisan positions as we discuss common concerns and seek paths forward.
The format will be an adaptation of "Scrupling", a tradition of Quakers who when faced with difficult issues such as human rights, war, and slavery, sat with neighbours to listen, share, and search for ways to respond in accordance with their own scruples and principles.
We will begin with a thoughtful silence, and there will be silence between speakers.
