Living Spiritually on the Edge (Sun. 13 Dec, 2015 10:30 am - 11:30 am)

Sermon by Stephanie Gannon, Intern Minister.

Twentieth-century Jewish theologian Abraham Joshua Heschel had wonder at the core of his theology and piety. Inspired by Heschel, I'll be reminding us of the first source of our Unitarian Universalist faith--i.e., direct experience of transcending mystery and wonder.

How can we bring more wonder into our lives at this hectic, stressful time of the year? The more we anchor ourselves in the ineffable and deepen our sense of mystery, the more we open ourselves to the many possibilities of faith.

Thanks!
Stephanie

Our Pagan Grove (Tue. 15 Dec, 2015 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm)

This fall, we have been calling on the wisdom of Hecate, Goddess of the crossroads, seeking the path to choose beyond the crossroads we’ve been experiencing personally, societally, and as a planet. As we move on to celebrate Yule, we ask what would Hecate advise us on being “a people of wonder”?

We honour and borrow from the various traditions of our members, and share the facilitation of our circles, incorporating the congregation’s monthly themes. All are welcome.

On the third Tuesday of every month, we meet in the Board Room (new location) at 7:15 p.m. for a 7:30 start. Bring drums or snacks if you wish. Next circle will be Tuesday December 15.
