Sermon by Rev. Shawn Newton & Rev. Lynn Harisson.
A service to reflect on the enduring meaning of the lives of the famous, the infamous, and the not-so-well-known who died in 2018.
On Sunday, Rev. Lynn Harrison and I will offer a series of short eulogies, as we look to the lives of a number of people—the famous and the not-so-famous—who died in 2018. We will offer tributes to lives lived that made an enduring impact in our world, from Anthony Bourdain and Burt Reynolds to Ursula Le Guin and Winnie Mandela. Our resident musicians will offer music by Aretha Franklin and Dolores O’Riordan of the Cranberries. While it may seem strange to attend a service packed with eulogies, we trust it will be a life-affirming experience for us all as we lift up compelling and complicated examples of lives lived well.
In faith and love,
