Dealing with Disappointment

At the end of his poem “The Layers,” Stanley Kunitz writes:

Though I lack the art
to decipher it,
no doubt the next chapter
in my book of transformations
is already written.
I am not done with my changes.

“I am not done with my changes.” There is something so very life-affirming in that statement. The notion that we continue to change, to evolve, to grow. It gives grounding to our hopes that, with time, things can and will be better. But it must be said, not every change is positive. Things don’t always get better. There are ups and downs on “The Roller Coaster of Change.” This Sunday, we’ll explore how we can find equanimity as we move through the many twists and turns on life’s sometimes wild ride.

At 12:30pm Kalvin Drake will host QUUest: A Vision of our Faith Movement, an opportunity to share your thoughts about the vision for Canadian Unitarianism as we move through the pandemic and beyond. This meeting will take place on Zoom.

See you on Sunday.

In faith and love,
Shawn
