Fine, Not Fine

Sermon by Rev. Lynn Harrison.

Bench, tree, sun These days, it can seem more difficult than usual to respond to the everyday question “How are you?” The answer may be “It’s complicated!” More than ever, we may be aware of the mix of joy and sorrow, hope and despair that are currently shaping our world.

One of the key learnings of spiritual growth is to develop some capacity to hold these contrasting aspects of life at the same time, with some degree of equanimity. This is a lifelong learning for all of us. Sometimes we can’t quite manage the balancing act…and that’s okay! But there is a world of wisdom available to assist us.

This Sunday, we’ll reflect on how we’re both “fine” and “not fine”–and we’ll do it in the good company of Neighbourhood Unitarian Universalist Congregation, who join us as our guests this week. Rev. Wayne Walder will lead us in meditation, and Dallas Bergen and I will bring you music, readings…and even some humour this week. I’m looking forward to being with you online this Sunday.

Love and blessings,
Lynn
